A Life of Service: Honoring Reverend Bolívar Flores, TH.D., DD, on His 35th Birthday
At just 35, Reverend Bolívar Flores, TH.D., DD, has dedicated his life to uplifting the vulnerable—helping ex-offenders, immigrants, and the homeless find hope. He lives his faith through action, changing lives every day.

JERSEY CITY, NJ – March 6, 2025 — Some people talk about change. Others become the change. Reverend Bolívar Flores, TH.D., DD is one of the rare few who has dedicated his life to transforming the lives of those society often forgets. On his 35th birthday, we honor not just the years he has lived, but the countless lives he has touched.
From a young age, Reverend Flores understood that faith was not just something to be preached—it was something to be lived. He saw pain, struggle, and hopelessness in his community, and instead of turning away, he stepped into the darkness and became a guiding light. His journey has been one of compassion, resilience, and unwavering commitment to those in need.

The Shepherd of the Forgotten
As Vice President of the Coalition of Pastors and Latino Ministers of New Jersey and Chief of Staff at the New Jersey Reentry Corporation, Reverend Flores, TH.D., DD has become a leading force in rehabilitating ex-offenders, advocating for immigrants, and assisting the homeless. His work goes beyond charity—it is about restoring dignity and hope to those who have lost everything.
With over 135,000 individuals under judicial supervision in New Jersey, the barriers to reintegration are high. Many who leave prison face rejection, unemployment, and isolation. But Reverend Flores sees potential where others see mistakes. Through job placement programs, housing assistance, and mentorship, he has helped ex-offenders rebuild their lives, proving that redemption is possible.
But his mission does not stop there. Seeing the fear and uncertainty faced by undocumented immigrants, Reverend Flores forged partnerships with the Coalition of Latin American Consuls of New York to help thousands obtain identification documents, granting them access to employment and essential services. In a world that often tells them they don’t belong, he gives them a name, a place, and a future.

Stories of Lives Transformed
Numbers and statistics can only say so much. The true impact of Reverend Flores' work is found in the stories of those whose lives he has forever changed.
Carlos, Ex-Offender:
"I was in prison for 15 years. No one believed I could change, but Reverend Flores did. He gave me a second chance, helped me get a job, and showed me I could be part of something bigger. Today, I stand as a free man, not just in body, but in spirit."
Ana, Formerly Homeless Mother:
"I was on the street with my son and our dog, lost and afraid. I had nowhere to go until Reverend Flores found me. He didn’t just give me temporary shelter—he gave me a real home, a job, and a new start. Because of him, my son has a future."
José, Former Addict:
"Twelve overdoses. Twelve times I should have died. Everyone gave up on me—except Reverend Flores. He walked with me through recovery, never letting me fall back into that darkness. Now, I’ve been clean for over two years, and I owe my life to him."
María, Domestic Abuse Survivor:
"My husband abused me. I had no papers, no family, and nowhere to turn. Reverend Bolívar not only helped me find legal protection but also gave me the courage to rebuild my life. Today, I am free because of him."
Doña Carmen, Elderly Woman in Poverty:
"I had no money, no food, and no one to care for me. Then Reverend Flores showed up. He helped me eat, took me to my doctor’s appointments, and reminded me that I am not forgotten. He is a true servant of God."
A Voice of Justice and Hope
Beyond his hands-on work, Reverend Flores uses his voice to advocate for those who cannot speak for themselves. Through his radio show, "Conversación Abierta con el Reverendo Flores," he champions social justice, educates communities, and inspires action. His influence has reached beyond New Jersey, touching lives across the country.
